A Reason, A Season or A Life Time
Posted on February 26th, 2009 4 commentsThis is something that has comforted me over the years and explains many relationships to me. It has comforted me over the loss of Dong. I hope that it has meaning to you as well.
A Reason, A Season or a Life Time
People come into your life for a reason, a season, or
a lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you
will know what to do for each person. When someone is in your life for a REASON . . . It is
usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have
come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you
with guidance and support, to aid you physically,
emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a
godsend, and they are! They are there for the reason
you need them to be.Then, without any wrong doing on your part, or at an
inconvenient time, this person will say or do something
to bring the relationship to an end.Sometimes they die.
Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realise is that our need has been met, our
desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you
sent up has been answered. And now it is time to move on.When people come into your life for a SEASON . . .
Because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace, or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount
of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; things
you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional
foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the
person, and put what you have learned to use in all
other relationships and areas of your life. It is said
that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.Author Unknown

We just lost our lorikeet today that we had for over 15 years. He was like a baby to me and my husband and the grief and saddness is just overpowering. It is nice to be able to talk to others who have went through the loss of a bird. It is unbelieveable how much you come to love these creatures. How much an impact they make on your life. How much you will miss them and all their crazy quirks. We will miss our redbird terribly.

Hi Karen,
I am sorry to hear about your loss. I know after just going through it with Dong how heartbreaking it can be. Even though she was only with us a short time, she certainly owned our hearts.

It has been just over a month now since my beautiful Blue and Gold Macaw J.J. passed away (24 years old). His foot got caught in his cage and he fell. In that terrible moment my life changed. He was my dearest friend. He had been in an unhappy home before he was given to me from a stranger. He had plucked the feathers in a small patch on his chest and shoulders. They never grew back but once he came into our home he never plucked again. He was truely happy. In an instant he appeared in my life and in an instant he was gone. My BFF (best feathered friend) was gone. I feel such a loss without him. We spent 8 wonderful years together. I have just read A Reason, A Season or a Life Time and truer words were never spoken. Those words have brought me comfort where nothing else has since he has passed away. Thank you.
