Pixie is a sweet 1 yr old green cheek conure with a very red belly.  She is fully feathered and enjoys shoulder rides.

    1. May I ask why such a young bird is up for adoption? Poor thing. I have a 5 year old Sun Conure named Arwen she is my little baby! I wish I could help Pixie though it breaks my heart knowing there are birds out there that don’t have a human flock to cuddle with :( I work at an avian vet clinic in Mississauga and plan on opening a bird rescue one day.
If you ever need foster homes/ someone to take a bird I am more then willing to accept! :)

    2. There are a number of reasons why we get young birds on occasion. I was not told why they were giving her up but I believe it had to do with their two young children. On rare occasons we get babies that were accidentally bred and the owners are too afraid of all the scammers on kijiji (there are many out there as well as every Tom, Dick and Harry claiming they are rescues but really are just looking for free birds they can resell or breed).

Our main goal is to find permanent homes for these birds and we only use foster homes when necessary. Also distance is an issue as we get many inquiries and people wanting to meet the birds. Having them in foster homes makes that difficult. We do appreciate the offer. If you are interested in adoption, please complete the adoption application on the website. Thanks/Nancy

    3. Hi there,

I was wondering how Pixie feels about other birds? I have one 2 year old male Green Quaker and I am looking to add one more small/medium bird to my home.

Does she have a preference as far as adult males verses adult females?

      Thanks!
      Melissa

    4. She does not seem to fear them at all but does not like them climbing on her cage as she will try to nip at their feet. That can easily be dealt with by keeping their cages seperate. She has gone to everyone so has no male/female preference that we can see.

    5. Hi Nancy,

I filled out an adoption form for Pixie but it came to my email. I wonder if I did it wrong or if you got it and I get a copy as well. Could you please let me know.

      Thanks
      Anastasia

    6. The form sends a copy to you and me. I did email you but it bounced back to me. I think it is a problem on my end. When would you like to come and meet her?
