Lotto – Yellow Shouldered Amazon
Posted on December 13th, 2009 6 commentsLotto Yellow Shouldered Amazon is a rare species of amazon with only a very few in Canada. She was brought here from her native Venezuela when the family moved here. Over time they stopped working with her but she is now stepping up willingly for us. She is 38 yrs old and in good feather and health. Lotto is on hold for now due to a recent surgery related to a vitamin A deficiency. She is doing very well but will be monitored for a little longer before she is placed for adoption.

Hi Nancy,
Are you able to tell me how Lotto acts around other birds or is it to soon in her evaluation? I might be interested in filling out an adoption application for her.
Thanks,
Cory

She has made great strides in the few days she has been here. She will require some work by the new owner but she’s going to be a great bird for someone.

How is Lotto doing? Is she still available? How much experience is required for her as we only have experience with a yellow sided green cheek 6 months now. I would love to have a larger bird.

Lotto just had surgery and has just completed antibiotics. This was due to a long term vitamin A deficiency which caused an infection in her choanial slit. We are still monitoring her to ensure that her health is well before she gets adopted out.
