There is very little information on this bird. He was taken in by the Humane Society who had it for three months. They then called us as they could see he was not doing well with them. I would love to give you a picture how ever my camera, phone and a few other things were stolen over the holidays.

I’ve been reading so much over the past few months about abandoned birds, abused birds, and I have to say it makes my heart ache. I grew up around birds, for 32 years they’ve been part of my life. I currently care for 16 canaries, and 1 Conure. I love them all so much! The lady I bought my Conure from said she thinks I’m ready for a bigger bird, and that when her Mollucan are ready I can buy one from her. As I look around the internet I’m feeling like it just would not be right to buy a baby without trying to adopt first.
My house is large with just me and my mate. We have no children [except the birds]. I have a few large cages that are empty, and I am home 24/7. All of my birds eat fresh fruit andd veggies aside from the seeds and pellets, some cages I prefer sand on the bottom, others wood pellets, and still others shavings…I forgot to mention I also have 3 female coturnix quail that were abandoned 2 in 1 cage and one fiesty girl in her own cage…They get the shavings cause the love to dust.
If I may be of any assistance please contact me.
Sincerely,
Cory. -

I used to own a cherry head and fell in love. I suppose you don’t ship adoptees?? Even if it was a lifelong permanent home??

Sorry we don’t ship. /Nancy

Thanks for your comments. Please fill out the adoption application on the website. We always need good homes for the birds. /Nancy

That’s too bad. Shipping the very one time for a permanent loving home would be important. Most of my birds now are rescues and rehomes.
I truly hope this guy gets the home he deserves. I am a conure lover and can see that a cherry head can make an absolutely wonderful pet if in the right environment.
I miss my girl and was hoping to do her justice by adopting another… anyone who takes him, please give him the best.

There are a number of reasons why we don’t ship. The stress on the bird, weather, shipping regulations, costs involved and we live no where near an airport that would accomodate us. It is a huge ordeal and the stresses are too much for both the bird and us having to travel hours in a car then plane in the cargo hold. Too many things can go wrong also.

Hello,
may I know if the conure is still available? If he/she is, I would like to fill out an adoption form.
To avoid birds from plucking feathers, I was told that we need to play with them more often, and provide a lot of toys when they are alone.
If the conure is not afraid of human, it will be easier for me to interact with him/her.
Thanks.
