We are located in Southern Ontario, Canada run by volunteers who are able to assist parrots and their owners during emergencies throughout Ontario. The parrot rescue was established in Ontario 10 years ago, although we have been involved with parrots and the avian community for over 30 yrs. The rescue is in the home of Nancy and Brett Daniels. They have work with over 600 parrots placing many into new homes during that time, as well as having saved countless relationships between parrot and owner in order to avoid going to a parrot shelter in the first place! freedom flighFreedom Flight parrot REscue, freedom flightsts

We network with many Canadian and US rescues. Even if you are out of our area we can assist you in finding a placement for your parrot or direct those looking for parrots to a legitimate rescue as there are so many scammers out there! Since the closure of Wings of Hope and Second Flight Parrot Rescue, we are now offering assistance to those that have adopted birds from either rescue for behaviour needs, grooming or placement assistance.
We can provide emergency long term or short term foster care for those who can no longer care for their birds due to circumstances beyond their control. The bird will recieve loving care during its time in foster care. This is where our volunteer foster homes across Ontario help most. In the event of an emergency our volunteers can help in a pinch! If it is a hospital stay or emergency of any kind that requires you to be away from your parrot and not getting the care it needs our volunteers will gladly foster your bird during the time of crisis. We want to ensure that they are kept safe even during emergencies and so that you and your companion can be reunited once the crisis is over. freedom flight parrot rescue, wings of hope

I don’t want us to come across as activists, but we are concerned for the welfare of birds and there are times when they get sick or hurt beyond our control. We are only concerned for the parrot’s welfare and not in creating problems for any individuals, meaning that we will try to educate those to make sure that they are giving their parrots proper diet and care. If this is not possible and it has come to the point where they can no longer keep their bird, we will ensure that they receive any necessary medical treatment and proper care.
