These are some of the more recent birds that have previously been adopted into new happy homes!

We are pleased to inform you that we have place over 400 birds in the past 8 yrs!

	Tiki Cockatiel Tiki is here for respite help for the owner. He is very talkative and enjoys flying around the house.
	Zeus Goffin's Cockatoo Zeus is the only rescue we have ever had returned to us. We suggested that the owners keep him clipped however they failed to do that. He requires a home with Goffins experience where he will be clipped regularly. He does have a tendency to get aggressive if kept flighted. Zeus is in perfect feather and talks well and is quite a fun bird as he makes up games himself and keeps himself well entertained.
	Patrick Mollucan Cockatoo Patrick is a 20 yr old female. She is very friendly and social and goes to most people. She is not a screamer. Presently she is slightly plucking her chest feathers but these could return with more attention. There is a major stipulation with Patrick as she and Rosie must be placed together in a home as they are best friends. A contract stating this will be signed.
	Rosie African Grey Rosie is a male african grey approximately 20 yrs old. He is a good talker but does not like to step up. He and Patrick are very good friends and will only be placed in a home together. Rosie and Patrick are good eaters on a balanced diet. They enjoy bath time together in the bath tub.
	Tonka Quaker Tonka is approximately 4 yrs old. He is fully feathered and talks fairly well. He can be aggressive when around his cage but gets along very well when away from the cage. He also enjoys the other birds.
	Brittany Parrotlet Brittany is a 4 month old Pacific Parrotlet. We are working with her to try and hand tame her as she is not completely tame. She is allowing me to hold her for moments at a time without biting. But she will require more work.
	Mia African Grey Mia is a female African Grey Congo. She is 10 yrs old. We will be working with Mia to determine the best placement for her.
	Watson Green-winged Macaw Watson is a very large Green Wing Macaw. His owner contacted us about fostering Watson until her home sells. She brought Watson up this week and was quite happy to have him spend some time here getting socialized with the others birds. He will be staying with us for a month or two and his owner will visit him regularly here until her house sells. We wish you lots of luck in getting your home sold fast!
	Charlie Goffins Cockatoo Charlie is a very sweet female goffins cockatoo. She is quite playful and fun loving. She is however badly plucked. This is due to a game she likes to play with her feathers. She will pull out a feather and play with it in the manner that goffins do and make a game out of it. We are trying to teach Charlie some new games that do not involve pulling out her feathers but it is difficult as this is fun to her. She adjust very well to new surroundings and gets along well with other birds.
	Watson Green-winged Macaw Watson is a very large Green Wing Macaw. His owner contacted us about fostering Watson until her home sells. She brought Watson up this week and was quite happy to have him spend some time here getting socialized with the others birds. He will be staying with us for a month or two and his owner will visit him regularly here until her house sells. We wish you lots of luck in getting your home sold fast! Update Watson has finally been flown to BC to be reunited with his owner after 8 months! We will miss you Watson! Watson also managed to regain many of his chest feathers during his stay with us. We hope he continues in his progress.
	Max Cockatoo We are not sure of Max's age but would guess him to be roughly 10 yrs old. He is plucked to the down but is allowing some feather growth. He is quite friendly and playful. He enjoys other birds
	Fred African Grey Fred is a very small African Grey of approximately 30 yrs old. Fred is blind in one eye and is mutilating himself. We are working with Fred to help him over come his mutilation issues. Fred does not know how to step up but is making progress in all areas. Update Due to Fred's disabilities he is now living with my daughter Hailee who has the experience and patience to care for such a troubled bird.
	Mickey Green Cheek Conure Mickey is a green cheek. Mickey was slightly plucked but has recently gotten all her feathers back except for one tiny patch. She would not be good around young children. She can be nippy with anyone but her primary care giver to which she loves to ride around on their shoulder and watch TV. She loves to be played with as well. She talks slightly and likes to imitate sounds.
	Wally Maximillian Pionus Wally is only one year old. He was with a person on blood thinners who was struggling with a small biting issue with Wally. He is not a heavy biter but any biting could not be tolerated by his owner. He has a large vocabulary and gets along well with other birds.
	Soda Pop Yellow Crown Amazon Soda Pop is a very gentle and sweet amazon. Due to the death of the owner there is very little information that we can provide. He is approximately 20 yrs old. He is very quiet and likes to say Hi Soda. He also likes to keep himself busy on top of his cage moving around in circles. We were told that Soda does like to sing I left my heart in San Francisco.
	Commet Red Lory Commet is a very clever and playful Lory (but aren't they all!). He is gorgeous and colorful and full of energy. He loves females and tolerates males but would prefer the company of females. He has a tendency to attach to one or two people and will nip at anyone else. He is an excellent talker and plays many games and is learning more everyday.
	Amos and Andy Cockatiels Two male cockatiels. Both hand tame.
	Sunny Double Yellow Headed Amazon Sunny is approximately 17 yrs old and has had one owner. He is a sweet bird and quite a good talker. We will be spending some time with Sunny to determine the best placement arrangements for him. Update: Sunny and Duster came in together. Sunny is on a fresh food only diet. He was given seed on the weekends only. We are working at introducing some protiens into their diet on a daily basis.
	Kish Quaker Kish is approximately 1 and half years old. He has a splayed leg which causes him to not be able to perch well. His feathers are also a little rough right now. He needs to be fed on the bottom of the cage due to the splay so that he can keep his balance. He is a little cage aggressive but outside of the cage he is a sweetheart. He is a good talker also. We will be monitoring Kish to determine the best placement for this bird.
	BJ Macaw BJ is 6 yrs old and was given up as the owner is a truck driving and spends too much time away from home to give BJ the attention he needs. BJ will become available for adoption shortly after we determine the best placement for BJ.
	Angelica Love Bird Peach faced love bird that has been plucking due to the loss of her mate. She is approximately 5 yrs old. We will be working with her to over come her plucking issues once she has seen the vet to determine that no health issues are causing the plucking.
	Annie Amazon Annie is a very special bird. She is extremely rare. It is also our understanding that this type of bird is not allowed to be owned as a pet. We have promised the owner that we would ensure that she would be placed into an appropriate breeding program. Although this is not something that we would typically allow to take place, we have made special arrangements due to these circumstances.
	Assorted Budgies Budgies We have more budgies in need of a home. The situation is getting critical as we have 17 budgies all needing homes. Can you help give a some of these guys a great home!
	B.J. Nanday Conure
	Baby Green-winged Macaw This is Baby. She is a 30 year old wild caught Green Wing Macaw. She came to us through another rescue due to her major behaviour issues. Baby's previous owner was a animal behaviourist but could not break down the barrier between her and Baby. Baby actually broke her finger 3 times. She was attached to the husband but would chase and attack anyone else. Now Baby is sweet and cuddly (well at least most of the time) and loves to preen her new mommy and daddy's hair and she will roll over on her back for foot rubs, she loves to wrestle and is now extremely gentle with us. She is not good with strangers but loves her family. She has been plucking her feathers since the age of two. So far most of them are growing back and we are keeping our fingers crossed that she will continue to let go of this habit that she has had for the past 27 years.
	Beaker Eclectus Beaker came to us as a baby with a broken beak. He had to have regular beak trims to keep his beak growing in correctly until he was ready for adoption.
	Bella Moluccan Cockatoo Bella is a female mollucan cockatoo who is 24 yrs old. She has not been well socialized so will be spending some time here to help her get over her nervousness. Update Bella is doing very well and seems to be comfortable with us. She will require an experienced cockatoo home. She has some slight plucking on her shoulders but the feathers appear to be growing in. Update again: Bella is almost fully feathered again! She is doing wonderfully. She would be good as the only bird in the home or in a home with large birds only as she does tend to bully some of the litle ones.
	Bill Nanday Conure Bill is a sweet little guy that is quite tame and loves to snuggle and ride around on my shoulder. He will fly and land on my finger when he wants. He will require a little time to buildup some trust as he doesn't always want to step up when asked. He loves to have his head scratched. For a conure he is not too loud but that could just be me.
	Blue Blue was rescued from a dog kennel by us several months ago but due to extenuating circumstances can not stay with his present owner. He is available again for adoption but will not be placed in a home with small children as he doesn't appear to like children. He is a great bird and talks well.
	Bogie Blue and Gold Macaw Bogie was one of our first rescues and was our biggest challenge. Bogie didn't like anyone and wouldn't let anyone near him. It took months of working with him to allow him to trust again. He is very aggressive around strangers still but is a wonderful family bird for us. He sings and dances and gives kisses and clowns around all day now. It is so nice to see a bird that was so untrusting in the beginning to become the bird he is today. Bogie is not good with strangers and bites his leg when people he doesn't know visit. He also is very slow at trusting people. For these reasons he will remain here at PASO.
	Bonnie and Clyde Lovebirds The one is slightly plucked due to neglect. However she is doing much better now. Neither are hand take. They enjoy flying around the house and playing with each other. Oh yeah this is one of the pages that needs formatting adjustments. The google ads hang over the page.
	Buddy Buddy was purchased for a family as a replacement for their dog that had died. They did not know anything about birds and Buddy was kept in a cage for the past two years. He will require a little TLC and patience in taming him again.
	Caesar African Grey Caesar 2 yrs old. Caesar is slightly plucked but his feathers are growing back in nicely. He is a big time talker and was shy of men but now goes to both men and woman. He loves to give kisses and is very playful and will come and seek out his best person for some loving.
	Cal Blue and Gold Macaw Cal is a female macaw that was abandoned at a vet clinic. She has been fully vetted to determine the causes of her mutilation issues. We were asked by the vet clinic to take her and work with her to help her overcome her mutilation issues. Calli is now ready for a new home. She no longer mutilates but is still missing some feathers. They may or may not ever return due to folicle damage. She is a sweet bird with a preference for men. She is 4 yrs old.
	Chancey Alexandrine Parakeet Chancey is a sweet female alexandrine that loves to sit and give kisses. She is a good talker but talks rarely. She would be good for a first time bird owner.
	Che Quaker
	Chico Moluccan Cockatoo Chico is a male Molluccan Cockatoo that is 17 yrs old. His owner passed away and the family were having a hard time dealing with him. He does not know how to step up but we are working on that. His feathers are rough and he is slightly plucked. With a few baths and some time I believe we will have him fully feathered again. He loves to cuddle and lays his head on my shoulder. Seems to be a very gentle bird but will require some patience. We wiuld like to find a home for him with previous cockatoo experience.
	Chloe Blue and Gold Macaw Chloe is a bird with minor scissor beak. When we first saw Chloe she was a mess. Many of her feathers were missing and she was filthy. She came to us from a bird mill where she was kept in a very small cage with an African Grey. She required immediate medical attention. Since Chloe has been with us since a baby she is well socialized and loves to lay on her back and play with your fingers. She is 1.5 year old DNA'd female.
	Cuddles Moluccan Cockatoo Cuddles owner was worried about what her family might do with Coco in the event of her death. She brought Cuddles to us to find a new home as she felt she was getting up in years to keep him. Cuddles would rub his head on the top of the bars and wear out the upper crest. He is now doing very well in a home through our local bird club and has all his feathers again!!
	Coco Cockatiel Coco is an 11 yr old hand tame cockatiel. He talks and loves to play. He needs a home immediately. Previous owner has passed away. *Coco has been adopted :D
	Coco Moluccan Cockatoo Coco is an approximately 15 yr old Molluccan Cockatoo that the owners were struggling with. Molluccans are a handful and proved to be a bit too much for the owner. Although Coco so far does not exhibit any negative behaviours we will be working with Coco to determine the most suitable placement for him. One more note. Coco is moderately plucked. Update Coco is one of the sweetest and calmest molluccans that we have met. She is friendly and goes to anyone. She also likes to snuggle and she is a took talker.
	Corral Cockatoo Corral is a short term visitor that is here for bird sitting and socialization.
	Esther Green-winged Macaw Esther is a 5yr old Greenwing Macaw. She has been plucking and stopped talking since the age of 2 when her owner brought home a new wife. She was with her original owner until she was 4 yrs old as they tried to keep her. She was put on antidepresants since she first started plucking. In her second home she was weaned off the antidepresants but continued to pluck and became quite phobic. She wouldn't allow anyone to touch her When we went to rescue her she was terrified and would thrash around in her cage and would bite to escape. It took quite a while to get her home and stable. Once Ester arrived here we talked calmly to her and started to touch her gently. We treated her as though she was not phobic and integrated her within the family immediately. Within a week she was stepping up and started to speak! She is a permanent fixture here now and she will step up for anyone. She gives great kisses and loves to admire herself in the mirror. She is also learning new words and loves to be around the other birds. **Update - Esther has found her singing voice and loves to entertain us in the evenings. She has also learned to play a few games like fetch. She will now step up for anyone but watch your buttons as she is a button thief! Update: Eshter is doing amazingly and we will be looking for a permanent home for her.
	Faux and Fauna Cockatiel Faux is a normal grey male and Fauna is a cinamon pied female. She is very sweet and he needs a little work.
	George Amazon George is a amazon with lots of character. He loves to be around pink colored birds like Mulloccan Cockatoos. This bird has the potential to be a loving family member to any home that is willing to spend the time needed to win him over.

	Jaco Double Yellow Headed Amazon Jaco is a 17 year old Double Yellow Headed Amazon. He is here for foster care indefinitely until his family is in a position to take him back. Jaco will not be available for adoption. *Jaco is now back with his owner :D
	Janna Conure Janna is a sweet bird that loves to give kisses and sit on your hand or ride around on your shoulder.
	Jeckel Lineolated Parakeet Jeckel is a green linoleated paraket that will be needing a new home.
	Jelly Bean Nanday Conure Jelly Bean is a senegal parrot that is very friendly. Part of the proceeds of her adoption will go to PDD research.
	Junior Blue and Gold Macaw Junior is a 40 yr old Blue and Gold Macaw. He is an exbreeder but is coming around and allowing us to pick him up and pet his pet. He talks a bit and makes us laugh with his Hello Rabbit! We will be working with Juior and the other macaws that all came in together. The original owner died at 91 yrs.
	Kiki Kakariki We have a kakariki that is available for adoption. There is no history on him. He is young and happy and loves to look out the window!
	Kylie Moluccan Cockatoo Kylie is an 8 yr old Moluccan Cockatoo. She is here in foster care from her home in Winnipeg. Kylie will be with us until her owner is ready for her return.
	Lucy Cockatoo Lucy is approximately 18 yrs old. She came to us due to her screaming issues. She is quite playful and active and fit in right away into our menagerie. She is very social and enjoys going from person to person and seems to really like being around other birds. We will be monitoring and working with Lucy for approximately a month before she will become available for adoption.
	Mango Jenday Conure Mango is a presumed male Jenday conure. Age unknown however does not appear very old. He is a little nippy and has that infamous conure call. We would prefer that he go to a home with other conures or to someone with previous experience with conures. A home with someone hard of hearing may also be suitable! LOL He loves to snuggle in your neck and will sleep there for hours. He is a great dancer so a home that enjoys music would also be good for Mango.
	Marvin Green Cheek Conure Marvin is a young green cheek conure who is missing most of his upper beak. It does appear to be growing back in but will take some time. He eats well and gets around just fine!
	Maverick Maverick just arrived and appears to be a sweetheart. He is slightly plucked due to the birth of a child in the home. He was the only child before that and the family didn't know how to deal with the stress of a new human baby. We will be working with Maverick to help him get his feathers back but he will eventually come up for adoption. Update: Maverick was adopted and later by his new owner returned however he was adopted again and is with his new family who are very involved in their local bird club.
	Mixed Finch Zebra Finch We have 10 zebra finch available for adoption. There is a mix or normals, whites and fauns. These are mostly related and should not be bred.
	Mr. Beaks Macaw Mr. Beaks is a 12 yr old Blue and Gold Macaw that has been in a basement for approximately 4 yrs. Is in good feather and is a possible female. We will be working with Mr. Beaks to determine the best placement for him. He is a little shy but quite gentle in his short time here.
	Nikki African Grey Nikki is a Timneh african grey and slightly plucked. She is slowly getting her feathers back. She was a little timid at first but is getting much better now. She was timid around other birds and prefers the company of people.
	Nikki Scarlet Macaw Nikki is a scarlet macaw and is an exbreeder or was set up as a breeder. Their owner died at 91 yrs of age. It is believed that Nikki is 5 years old based on her band. She is unhandleable at this time and no decisions about adoption will be made until such time as they can be handled as pets. These birds will not be adopted out for breeding.
	Nugget and Sebastian Macaws Nuggget is a very sweet female Blue and Gold Macaw. Sebastian (shebash) is a female Greenwing macaw. These two birds arrived together at the rescue. They are 15 years old and are looking for a new home. I would like to try if possible to place them together as they are good friends. We will consider seperating them for the right homes. Their feathers are a little rough but neither bird plucks. They are both great talkers. Update - These two have been adopted together to the same home which is what we were hoping for. The new owners are wonderful and very comfortable with their new family members.
	Onyx Black Lory Onyx is a 2 and a half year old rare Black Lory. His owner brought him to us as they are moving and can't take him with them. He hasn't had a whole lot of time spent with him and needs more one on one attention with someone with patience. He can be a bit nippy presently but I am sure that can be overcome with an experienced bird home! We will ensure that the prospective new owners are well versed in the care and keeping of Lory's as they have very different dietary requirements that most other parrots.
	Orbit Amazon
	Pablo Umbrella Cockatoo Pablo was a regular foster care due to some life changes which happened to her owner. She has been with us on several occasions.
	Parrotlets Parrotlets We always have a steady flow of parrolets at P.A.S.O.
	Pepi
	Pheonix Blue and Gold Macaw Pheonix is a blue and gold macaw that the owners were struggling with. He is in perfect feather and a little bossy right now but he's coming around nicely!
	Pico Quaker Pico arrive with Arwin although they do not appear to like each other so they do not need to remain together. Pico is a very sweet quaker that is 4 years old.
	Quazi Quaker
	Ramona Orange Wing Amazon Ramona is an orange wing amazon and one of the gentlest birds we have met. She does not talk but makes some different sounds. She may still learn to speak with some patience.
	Reuben Amazon Reuben has had a not so great start to life and has already been rescue once before. His rescuer ended up not in good health which made it difficult for her to spend time with Reuben asn he has arthritic feet. We are going to work with Reuben to help him get stronger and hopefully be able to perch better as he presently falls frequently. He came to us from Dresden Ontario.
	Rikki Blue and Gold Macaw Rikki is a Blue and Gold macaw that is an exbreeder. The owner passed away and he is bonded with Nikki. They are unhandleable at this time and will not be adopted out to be bred. They will remain here with us until such time as they can become handleable. No decisions will be made at this time for adopting them out. It is believed that Rikki is 12 yrs old.
	Rocky Amazon Rocky is 24 yrs old. He is very social once you get to know him but takes a few days to warm up to you. He enjoys sitting and getting scratches and spending time with people. He makes some strange noises and like most amazons can be a little loud at times. Usually when he gets excited or wants attention.
	Romeo
	Rosie Moluccan Cockatoo 10 yrs old. Very sweet bird. Not needy, likes to play on her own. Needs a home where someone is home all day with her. She doesn't like to step up but will come down on her own for some cuddle time. She has been plucking but is showing improvements. Previous experience with cockatoo's a must.
	Roxie African Grey Petite female African Grey. She is 15 yrs old and had a rough start to her life. A little timid while in her cage but once out she does step up. She now loves head scratches and gives great kisses. She loves to snuggle on your lap and will suckle on your shirt.
	Rudy Umbrella Cockatoo
	Sam and Fiona Love Bird Sam and Fiona are Peach Face lovebirds that arrived here this week. Sam is plucking and they were on a wild bird seed diet. We will be working with these guys to get them onto a better diet and see if we can help Sam with his plucking issues. Pictures will follow.
	Shrek and Fiona Love Bird Shrek and Fiona came to us at just under a year old, in need of a new home and were adopted out by a nice couple and now live in Peterborough.
	Simon Umbrella Cockatoo Simon is an 18yr old Umbrella Cockatoo. He and his playmate Kylie arrived here from Winnipeg. Simon has some problems with men from his previous home, and would be a great addition to a family with only females.
	Skittles Rainbow Lory We did find a home for Skittles but the people backed out. He is again available for adoption.
	Sky Indian Ring Neck Sky is a female indian ring neck. Sky is a little shy but we recently have managed to work with her and now she is stepping up and giving kisses. She is a beautiful bird and needs someone who can spend some time with her.
	Sunny Jenday Conure Sunny arrived here with complaints of screaming in the home. So far Sunny has not exhibited this behaviour other than the normal (although loud) Sun Conure call. He was also said to be aggressive toward a person in the home but with his new wing clip he has calmed down considerably.
	Sweety Quaker We have a very sweet 1.5 yr old DNA sexed female. She is very sweet. Loves to ride around on your shoulder. She is very playful and is talking. Her favorite spot is to snuggle up in your hair and sit for hours at a time.
	Tigi African Grey Tigi is a 2 yr old Timneh African Grey. He has been abandoned by his owners. He is a little timid and slightly plucked as he is nervous around other birds. He is very sweet and gentle with people. He would do well in a home without other birds.
