Posted on July 9th, 2010 4 commentsGeorge is approximately 40 yr old Double Yellow Headed Amazon who has been surgically sexed female. She lived with an older gentleman and then was cared for by his family after his passing. George seems to prefer a female handler but she is very sociable and a GREAT talker and singer. She has a little bit of feather damage, but nothing too serious. We do not believe she will recover all her feathers but she can regain most of them.

Wallace – Double Yellow Headed Amazon
Posted on August 9th, 2009 6 commentsWallace is 15 yrs old. He spent his first 6 years in a petstore and then with the newest owners for the past 9 years. He was very unsocial during his stay at the petstore but came around very well in his present home. He is on a good diet and is fully feathered and talks very well. He is used to daily baths and it sounds like he would prefer a male handler however he did come willingly to me. He arrived here due to the arrival of a new baby.

Buddy – Double Yellow Headed Amazon
Posted on June 24th, 2009 5 commentsBuddy is a sweet 10 yr old Double Yellow Headed Amazon, with a wonderful personality. He sings and has a gentle nature. Due to a health issue the family has no choice but to give him up. Seems to prefer a female handler. He is in excellent feather.

Bird – Double Yellow Headed Amazon
Posted on May 29th, 2009 4 commentsBird is a presumed female Double Yellow Headed Amazon. She was very attached to her owner but due to circumstances she could not keep her. So far she has been very friendly and flew over to me today. Her feathers are in wonderful shape and she is a great talker. I believe she is 6 years old. Yes her name is Bird!

Double Yellow Headed Amazon
Otis arrived here due to family illness and due to his age he is to remain as a permenent resident with us. Otis we call our grumpy old man. He’s made quite a bit of progress and does step up for us now. He’s lost alot of his excess body weight as he was a little top heavy if you know what I mean!
